Our short trip to San Diego

Last weekend we made a day trip to San Diego. One good thing about Yuma, Arizona is that it's just shy of 3 hours to the Coronado beach in san Diego. While it's extremely hot here in Yuma, it's gorgeous perfect weather in San Diego. It was 72 degrees & the perfect day to sit back & relax on the beach. I decided that San Diego is where my husband & I will retire, I loved it that much! lol & Chris was not at all opposed to the idea :). I'm going to share with you all the pictures that we got while there, hope you enjoy!..

Catching a bite to eat before leaving for San Diego :)

                        Colten & I at the beach :).

                           Colten & Chris :)

Waiting for a wave to come splash over our feet, when it finally did colten wasn't so sure about it!

What else would my hubby make in the sand? of course an airplane lol.

I so wish I had better pictures of these cars, I could not stop laughing on the back of this car it says
"Money in tha bank!" sitting in the Mc.Donalds parking lot lol.

Good news! we get to come home a week early! I will be getting home on September 2nd now instead of the 9th, so I can start getting back into blogging more sooner :). This will probably be my last post before I return home so I hope you all have a great week! See you soon :)

DIY spice up a plain picture frame

This is a super simple craft that makes for a beautiful picture frame! This is a picture from my husband & I's wedding & the flowers I made are the colors that were in our wedding. The frame started off as just a white frame that I got for really cheap in the clearance section, it was actually kind of beat up but now you can't tell! I didn't make a tutorial on how to make the flowers but they are very simple. You need to tie a knot at the end of your fabric strip & then continually twist the fabric as you roll it around gluing as you go till you get to the size you desire. Then place something in the middle if you like, I chose pearls. Hope you enjoyed this quick little post & tip! This is the last of my automated posts so hopefully I will be able to post while I"m away but if not I will see you in September!  Have a wonderful week!

Update

We've been in Arizona for a little over 2 weeks now. On Sunday it'll be 3 weeks since we got here & we will have another 2 weeks till we return home. A total of 5 weeks, I feel like we've been here for 5 weeks already & I'm so ready to go home! Chris, Colten & I all miss our puppies terribly & the temperature here is in the 100s with humidity every day, oh & when you walk outside at 9 pm it's STILL 105 +. I am not a fan of hot weather at all. 80 is too much for me so you can imagine just how much I'm loving the weather here lol. It hasn't been all bad though they have a really nice shopping center here & I'm thankful we have a nice little apartment to stay in instead of having to live out of a hotel room. I'm also thankful we get to see Chris everyday & that I don't have to be at home missing him terribly. The internet here is ok nothing special though & for some reason it doesn't like to stay on our lap top very well. It is working really well this morning though so I thought I'd try and throw together a quick post! I miss blogging but I promise once I get back I will have lots of things to share! I'm going to share some pictures with you all to show a little of how the trip has gone so far. A little side note, I have more pictures and videos I wanted to share that are on my phone that Colten decided to throw in the toilet..ugh oh well it's fried but thankfully Heather's boyfriend Andrew is going to send me his old i phone, thank you thank you thank you! :) But I'm not sure if I will be able to get all of my pictures and videos from my SIM card I know or atleast think my contacts are saved on my SIM but I'm not sure about all of the pictures and videos hopefully they are..but I will share what I can for now, hope you enjoy!

Colten Cuddling with Daisy before we left, these 2 are BFFs and I know he misses her as do I. :(

Sound asleep on the way to las vegas to stop before going to arizona.

Oh you know just hanging out in the cabinet. Yes he did this all by himself..he is ALL BOY! lol

Being so sweet and cuddling with a pillow pet dog! We bought him a big stuffed animal dog
& he loves to cuddle with it. Every time he sees a dog real or not he gets so excited & says Dog!
He got to pet a golden when we went to a pet store & he didn't want to leave, he's a dog lover already
just like his mommy & daddy! :)

I love his smiles, they always brighten my day! :)

These are date palms. All of the bags on them are collecting the dates that grow on them.
I never knew that dates grew on palm trees but it was a really neat site to see there are lots of                 date trees in the little sliver of California that we drove threw.

I was so excited to paint my nails! I hadnt packed any nail polish so i did them
as soon as i got the chance :)

Colten flying his new airplanes he LOVES airplanes already taking after his daddy!

Yea gross right? Chris took this on his way home one day, its WAY to hot here!

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

I love fall & this is a favorite of mine to sit down & enjoy in the morning with a nice hot cup of tea. The dip goes really well with cinnamon graham crackers. Hope you enjoy this as much as I do!..

Ingredients

12 oz light cool whip
1/2 15 oz can of pumpkin
1 pkg vanilla instant pudding
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of pumpkin pie spice (or to taste)

Mix everything together & let sit in fridge till ready to serve. I like to make this the night before so the flavors have time to combine. Enjoy!!

DIY earring display

I made this earring display as a birthday gift for my sister in law Andrea. I'm working on one as a gift for my mom as well. I love how it turned out I think the lace is such a pretty back drop to place your earrings on. I originally wanted to do this with a bigger frame but I couldn't find one that was bigger that had thick wood for the frame like this one. But I still think it turned out good, if you'd like to make one here is how mine came together..

First I show you how I made the flowers, I used felt & cut out petals. The amounts of petals you'll need will depend on the size of your flower. You will also need to cut a circle out of your felt to glue your petals to.

It's kind of hard to see but there is a spot of glue on this petal you will want to pinch the sides together to make your petal.

Then you glue The petals around your felt circle till your happy with your flower & add a gem or a button to the center of your flower & your done!

Flower number 2 - Start with a strip of felt.

Put hot glue along the bottom of the strip & fold the felt onto the glue.

Then cut into your felt all along the open side that isn't glued down without going completely through.

Then place glue along the side that isn't cut & roll! Then place a gem or button in the center & your done!

For the Picture frame, I started with a black frame & then spray painted it white & distressed it with sand paper. Then I just simply double my lace and cut it to size and hot glued it to the back of the frame.

Here is a close up of the flowers! Hope you enjoyed this tutorial & are having a great week!

Delcious & simple Donuts from a can of biscuits!

Ingredients

1 can of biscuits
oil
Decent sized skillet or pot
cinnamon sugar (optional, to coat donuts in)
Powdered Sugar & milk or heavy cream if you would like glazed donuts

This is so simple, & a great way to fulfill a craving for donuts quickly :).
Cut the center out of your biscuits, at the time I used a formula scoop
and it was the perfect size, use whatever you have on hand. Heat up your
oil on about medium heat. You don't need a ton of oil just a couple of inches will do.
One way to know if it's hot enough is to flick a little water off of your hand
& if it starts to sizzle in the oil your good to go. Once your oil is good & ready
place your biscuits in, I used the centers too as you can see in the picture.
and fry until golden brown. While your donuts are cooking prepare what you'd like to coat
them in, I used both cinnamon sugar and a glaze. For the glaze just add about a cup of powdered
sugar to a bowl and then slowly add in your cream or milk until you get it as thick or thin
as you like. I found these are insanley good if you dip them in your glaze and then roll them
in cinnamon sugar but of course that's naughty so try that at your own risk =). Enjoy!
