The Best Green Strawberry Banana Smoothie!

Now, before you judge this recipe by the picture let me tell you that the color is not as pretty only because I added spinach to my smoothie to make it healthier. But I promise you the spinach does not change the flavor. It taste SO GOOD! If your a fan of the strawberry banana smoothie from Mc.Donalds then you will love this because, I promise this is even better, yes even with the spinach. Try it before you bash it & leave out the spinach please! :) on to the recipe..

Strawberry Banana Smoothie (with spinach)

3 Strawberries
1/2 a banana
4 TBS. Strawberry yogurt
Handful of spinach
1/4 cup orange juice, If you fresh squeeze your orange juice with a juicer it will take 1 big orange
3 Ice cubes

Chop your strawberries into chunks & toss in blender, break up your banana and throw in. Then chop up your spinach and toss into the mix & add your yogurt and orange juice then blend till smooth. Once it's all blended good throw in your ice cubes and blend again & enjoy the best strawberry banana smoothie you'll taste on a nice hot day! The first thing that came out of my husbands mouth when he tried it was, that does not look like it taste! lol :) I love to have these for breakfast and or a snack. My 1 year old little boy LOVES this smoothie, so just one more reason you dont need to be scared off by the spinach! ;)

Colten's 1st Birthday Party

Here are the pictures I promised from my Son's 1st birthday party. Sorry these are going up so late but if you've been following my blog recently you'll know that my little boy got really sick and was in the hospital for about a week. He is doing much better, thank you all for your sweet comments & prayers they are so so appreciated! The day of his party was the start of him getting sick, so it was hard to get a lot of pictures. He was fussy & just not feeling good. But here are the pictures I did get, I hope you all enjoy! :)

All the precious baby boys born around the same time!

This is after the party but I just had to share, this little airplane that my sweet friend
Amy got for him is just too cute and he loves it! :)

There was a lot more bags, these were just the ones left after everyone left. I thought having the party start at 12 would give me plenty of time but I was rushed trying to get everything together so the pictures aren't the greatest, sorry!

Just some of the balloons Heather got for Colten, she's so funny with balloons! =)

Some of the side dishes at the party.

I ended up hanging the soda can airplanes on the chandelier, I think they look neat,
they are actually still there :)

I would love to have a picture of Colten sitting here eating his cake,
but he just wasn't up for it.

Since the banner I made was in front of a window it was really hard to take pictures of!

I wanted to get Colten sitting by these but he wasn't feeling up to it.

Have a wonderful week!, Kayla :)

Homemade Taco Salad in a tortilla shell

I had a taco salad recently at a restaurant and was inspired to make my own version. I'm really happy with how it turned out so I thought I'd share. This salad is really yummy & very satisfying. I hope you all enjoy!...

Ingredients

Your favorite lettuce, I love romaine but use whatever you like.
Peppers & onion
Pinto beans
Your favorite cheese, I used colby jack
butter
taco seasoning
1 lb. turkey burger
Tomatoes & any other veggies you like on your salad
Tortilla shell
Oil

Start off by cooking your turkey burger and making sure it's good and golden brown then add in a packet of taco seasoning & the amount of water that it says to use. It will say this on the packet, I can't remember exactly how much it said on mine. I also seasoned my meat with some garlic salt as it cooked up but that is optional. Once your meat is cooked place in a bowl & add a little butter to your pan and saute your pepper and onion adding garlic salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. Then add into your taco meat and set to the side. If you want beans in your salad wash them & then add them to the pan you cooked your peppers and onions in and season with a little taco seasoning & garlic salt to taste. while your beans are warming and being seasoned. Warm your oil, just enough to cover your shell is all you need. When your oil is ready place your flour tortilla in and set a glass or bowl in the middle depending on how big of a shell your using for the first couple of minutes to give it a bowl shape then take the cup out  & just let finish cooking till golden brown let oil drain off on a towel and sprinkle with a little salt. Place your tortilla shell on a plate add your lettuce and all of your toppings. For the dressing pour some of your favorite ranch in a bowl and add in taco seasoning to your liking. Now your ready to enjoy a yummy & hearty salad! I hope you all enjoy!
