DIY Easy bead braclet

I had in my head what kind of bracelets I wanted & decided they would be easy enough to make so I set out to Joanns and got my supplies. I love how they turned out & they were so simple!..

What you need
Elastic band
beads (whatever you like)
A few beads that will stand out

That's it!

Start out by tying a knot big enough so that the beads wont fall off, and then start adding on your beads, once they are all on how you like you can choose to add a special bead or charm like I did or keep it all the same and then just tie the 2 ends together and cut off the excess and your done!
* You will want to leave more on the end with the knot then is shown in this picture You want enough so that it is easy to tie at the end, I learned this the hard way learn from my mistake please :)

Hope you enjoyed!

Broccoli & Cheese soup

Broccoli & cheese soup is my favorite soup. I don't get to eat it too often because my husband is not a fan, but every once and a while I will make up some for a special lunch treat for myself. I've been craving it so much lately I just had to make some, so I thought I'd share my recipe. It's so delicious I wanted to eat it all at once! Hope you enjoy..

Ingredients
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup half & Half
1 cup of milk
2 - 3 stalks of broccoli
Sea salt & fresh ground pepper to taste
1-2 cups of Cheddar cheese
3 Tbs. butter
3 Tbs. flour

Start off by melting your butter in a hot pan then add in your flour until thickened. Just this little bit of butter & flour makes a big difference your soup will not hold together very well if you skip this. Once that is done add in your chicken broth, half & half & milk let come to a light boil & then add in your fresh broccoli, this will take about 20 - 30 minutes to cook and become nice and soft. Add in your cheese & seasonings until you have it right where you want it, let cook about another 10-20 minutes and enjoy!

Light avacado Egg Salad sandwiches

I love egg salad but I have never loved mayo. I can eat small amounts in recipes or a little on a sandwich but I can't handle a lot of it. So this recipe is light on mayo, to me it's just right but if you love mayo feel free to add more :).

Ingredients
6 hard boiled eggs (only use half of the yolks)
1 avacado
1 Tbs. mayo made with olive oil (1/2 fat of regular and I think it taste better then reduced fat or fat free)
sea salt,  fresh ground pepper, paprika, mrs.dash garlic and herbs to taste
Garlic salt
cooking spray
bread (My favorite is honey wheat)

*Tip on hard boiling your eggs *
Place your eggs in a single layer at the bottom of your pot
cover with cold water & sprinkle with a little salt, let come to
a rolling boil & then turn off the heat & let sit with lid on for
15-18 minutes depending on the size of your eggs. Poor off
hot water and cover with cold water take eggs out and crack
the top, bottom and then gently roll of the counter top & place
back into the cold water. This makes them SO easy to peel!
Let sit in cold water for a good 10 minutes and then go ahead
& peel - You can let them sit longer if you need to.

Once your eggs are boiled chop three of the eggs up with the yolks in them & three of the eggs without the yolks. Chop your avocado and throw into your eggs then add mayo and season to your liking. I like just a dash of paprika and a couple of dashes of the garlic and herbs seasoning. But taste as you season. Then another tip to save some calories, I spray my bread with cooking spray & sprinkle with garlic salt and then place in a frying pan that has cooking spray on it for a couple of minutes to lightly toast my bread. This is optional, but it really adds a lot of flavor & no calories.
I hope you enjoy this recipe!

DIY Rose bud earrings

Joanns was having a sale on there clay so I picked up 4 blocks not knowing what I would do with it, just knowing I was getting a good deal :). I've been wanting to play with it ever since I got it and had the idea to make some earrings out of it. So I sat down and started practicing making roses out of the clay. It's not really difficult but it took me a couple of times to get the hang of it & get them to how I liked. I'm so happy with the outcome that I thought I'd share. Hope you enjoy!

Materials
Clay (any color you like)
rhinestones (optional)
plated silver for the studs (package shown bellow)
earring backs
Clear nail polish
Hot Glue

First start of with a small ball of clay.

Then flatten the ball and place your wire in the clay.

Cut off the excess around it.

Roll the clay tightly around so that it will stick to your wire.

For each petal you want to start off with a small ball.

Flatten your ball in between 2 fingers and then slightly roll.

Place on the base of your rose.

As you continue to make petals you will want to squeeze the excess clay off.

This is what it will look like as you add more petals,
add as many or few as you like I call these rose buds because I only added a few.

Make sure you cut off the excess on the back of the flower so that it is flat and will sit flesh with your ear when you try them on. I found it much easier to do small roses for earrings because when I first made them bigger they were too heavy for studs. Once your rose is how you like bake in the oven following the instructions on your clay, mine was 30 minutes at 230 degrees. Then Add a rhinestone with some hot glue if you like & apply a coat of clear nail polish and you have a cute pair of earrings! have fun! =)

I aslo made a purple pair for my wonderful friend Heather.

Then I was having too much fun so I made matching rings :) All I did for these was make a bigger rose and then glue it to the ring base.

If you have any questions just let me know! Have a wonderful week =)
