I found a picture of a shelf over a couch on pinterest & loved the idea. I just could not get it out of my head & wanted to do it so badly! My husband came to me yesterday & gave me the idea for this shelf. I love how the trim is around it on the bottom, it just adds something nice and goes perfectly in our living room. I had so much fun decorating this, my pumpkin topiary that you see in the center is mostly from the dollar store! I got my inspiration to make it from Heather she made some fall topiary's & sent me a picture & I just instantly fell in love! I knew I had to make my own! So I gathered some things I had at home & made a trip to the dollar store & created this one. I"m SO happy with how it turned out, I hope this inspires you to do some fall decorating of your own :)
This is an up close shot at my sun flowers, showing you that I glittered the inside. It was SO easy & added a lot to the flowers! I just applied a thin layer of mod podge with a foam paint brush and then sprinkled glitter on them & wa la an even prettier sun flower! If your interested in how I glittered my mason jars and or my felt pumpkin that you see on the shelf you can catch that post HERE.
Here is a closer look at my pumpkin topiary. I glittered the inside of my sun flowers that I got at the dollar store & added in some glittered leaves from Joann, Pumpkin, upside down vase, Leave, and straw are all also from the dollar store. I mod podged my vase from the dollar store & glittered it like I did my mason jars, glued the pumpkin on top which is made of foam so I just stuck my leaves & flowers directly in them. I bunched up some straw & glued it to the vase & then added some leaves & a couple of cute little foam glittered pumpkins & there you go an easy & cheap to make pumpkin topiary!
I hope you all enjoyed what I had to share today! Happy fall decorating! :)
