The other night for dinner I knew I wanted to make Chicken Teriyaki but I wasn't sure what all I wanted to put in it. A lot of recipes will call for soy sauce & I didn't have any on hand because neither Chris or me like it. So I decided to take a risk and throw a bunch of ingredients into the crock pot with my chicken & pray that is turns out good! & thankfully it did :) This chicken is full of flavor and so moist from slow cooking, I hope you enjoy! =)
Ingredient
-Chicken ( I use thin chicken strips so they cook faster but you can use breast)
-1/2 cup of Teriyaki Sauce
-Garlic salt & fresh ground pepper to taste
-1/4 cup of honey
- 1 8ounce can of crushed pineapple with juice
- a few dashes of sriracha or your favorite hot sauce
Place your chicken into your crock pot & sprinkle generously with garlic salt & a few cracks of black pepper. In a bowl mix together your teriyaki sauce, honey, pineapple, and hot sauce. Pour over chicken & turn your crock pot on high or low depending on how fast you'd like it to cook. I'd suggest turning it on low if you are using thin chicken and if you use thick, high. Mine was ready in 4 hours on low, but my crockpots low setting is as hot as most people's high setting. My guess is it will take 4-6 hours depending on your chicken and how hot your crock pot gets. Just keep an eye on it the first time you do it then after that you will know what works for you =).
Hope you enjoy!
