Apple Crumb Bars

I tried this recipe for the first time on Thanksgiving and it turned out great, so I thought I'd share! I love having apple and pumpkin desserts in the fall & winter months. This dessert goes from great to amazing when you add vanilla ice cream on the side =).

You can find the recipe here - Apple Crumb Bars

I added cinnamon to the crumb mixture & sprinkled some on top of the apples. Also the recipe calls for 5-6 apples but I found I only needed 3-4. The first time I made this, I used gala apples & the 2nd time I used golden delicious both were really good. I like sweeter apples in desserts but you can use whatever you'd like =). I hope you try this out & enjoy it!

DIY Christmas tree

I have so many projects on my to-do list for Christmas it's not even funny! But I wanted to do something different tonight, so I sat down and thought for a minute and came up with this tree. I hope you like it as much as I do. I'm so happy with how it turned out.. if you'd like one for yourself here is how I made it..

What you need
Foam tree
Garland
Fake snow
A little hot glue
Ribbon for a small bow

Wrap your Garland around your Styrofoam base. Secure the Top & bottom pieces with hot glue. I wrapped my garland around twice until I was happy with how it looked. Then spray your tree with fake snow, make a little bow, glue it the top and your done! Simple but cute Christmas tree! =)

Cranberries & tea lights

I almost skipped blogging today but I couldn't do it. Thanks to Heather from Sewstylishboutique for asking me if I did a post today at 10 at night.. I answered no..but I felt to guilty.. I had to stick to what I said I would do and that is blog everyday up until Christmas so it's 10:26 p.m. and I am doing my blog post before bed! I found this idea on pinterest and once again I was searching for Christmasy stuff. There are multiple pictures of cranberries and tea lights together and I just fell in love I think the two together mixed with water and a big bowl is so pretty. It's so easy to do yet looks so pretty...

Sugar Cookies

To be honest, I am not a huge fan of sugar cookies & I only really make them once or twice a year around Christmas time. They taste fine but personally Id rather have a chocolate chip cookie most of the time. I don't know why but in the winter went it's getting close to Christmas I can't resist a sugar cookie. The main reason for this is because you can make them into cute Christmas trees, mittens, snowmen etc. and they look super cute and festive! Unfortunately I am really bad at decorating cookies as you will see... but non the less every year I attempt to make them look good ..hasn't worked yet but I'm sure I will keep trying. The recipe I used this year was a good one and I think it's the perfect recipe for cookies that will be decorated with sweet icing. If you want a sugar cookie recipe to eat without icing I would suggest adding a cup of sugar because the sugar cookie itself is not super sweet. But you add that icing on and it's extremely delicious! I got my recipe from here - Sugar cookies recipe . For the icing I just used milk and powdered sugar about 1 TBS of milk to 1 cup of powdered sugar & I also added a little vanilla extract & then food coloring and your done! I'm sure if I had decorating tools they may have turned out better but I just used little snack bags and cut the tip off. I guess I will go ahead and show a few cookies I decorated and embarrass myself lol happy cookie making!

Another DIY Christmas Wreath..

I wanted another wreath for my house, so I sat down and just started making one. This is what came of it..hope you like it! :)

I started with foam tubing from home depot, like last time. Then I wrapped a bunch of green sparkly tulle around the wreath and secured some spots along the way with hot glue. After that was done I made a bunch of flowers. Then I cut out some squares of felt and glued them onto the wreath where I wanted to place my flowers, glued my flowers to the felt and that's it!

Christmas blogging

I am so excited that today is December first. I have been holding myself back from making blog posts for the past couple of weeks so I could save all my Christmas blogs for the month of December. I will be posting crafts, recipes, decorating ideas and much more that all involve Christmas everyday up until Christmas! I'm so excited to share with you all my love for Christmas..the magic of Christmas never went away for me, ever since I was a child I have loved Christmas and this time of year. I love giving gifts and baking cookies and remember the birth of my savior. It's such a special time of year and I can't ever imagine not loving it. Today I have a simple craft idea to share, i hope you enjoy it =)...

Garland Christmas tree

What you need

Foam tree base (dollar store)
Garland..any kind you like
one small ornament
A big Christmas bow ( I made my own, but you could also buy one if you like)
A hot glue gun

This is so simple it's not even funny. All you need to do is run a thin line of hot glue about half way around the bottom of your tree & attach the first part of you garland to it then just keep wrapping around until you get to the top and add another thin line of glue attach your garland and snip off the excess. Glue a small ornament to the top, make a big pretty bow and glue it on to the ornament..wa la a cute festive Christmas tree! I was going to add ornaments to my tree but I fell in love with it just like this..sometimes I think less is more :). Oh & by the way in case anyone is wondering I got those cute mittens, that are actually salt & pepper shakers at walmart for under $3!
